Education is my passion and I have been fortunate to do what I love for over 25 years. I am a Montessori trained teacher who cofounded Avalon Children’s Montessori School in 2000. Over the years, I have continued to develop my understanding of the Montessori method, my role as a leader and the need for an educational approach that supports all students. This journey has included receiving my Principal’s Qualifications at York University, professional development on ASD, ADHD, SEL, certification in The Zones of Regulation program, as well as Associate Level training in the Orton Gillingham (OG) Method. In addition to working in an elementary classroom every day, I provide one on one tutoring to students of all ages as well as parent education workshops and literacy support for teachers.
